Political relations
Political relations are based on the tradition of cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement. Julius Nyerere, the former President of Tanzania, who laid the foundations of the Tanzanian state, is credited with particularly close connections with the SFRY, which, along with China, was considered Tanzania's closest friend internationally.
The then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, visited Tanzania on 14 May 2019.
Economic relations
In 2019, exports from the Republic of Serbia to Tanzania amounted to 250,000 euros, and imports from Tanzania to 1,652 million euros.
Bilateral agreements
Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia and the Government of the Republic of Tanganyika.
Date of signature: 20 December 1962.
