Political relations
Relations between the Republic of Serbia and Nepal are traditionally close and cordial, with the potential for deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, primarily in the sphere of economy, trade and culture. The two countries have common views on a number of international issues.
The political dialogue between the two countries has been on the rise in recent years, to which a significant impetus was given by the visit of the then First Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić to Nepal, on 4-6 May 2018.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, paid a return official visit to the Republic of Serbia on 27-28 November 2019, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
MFA RS N. Selaković met Nepalese MFA Dr. N. Khadka on October 10, 2021 in Belgrade, on the side-lines of High-level Commemorative Meeting on the occasion of 60th Anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Nepalese delegation at the 141st session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Belgrade, on 14-17 October 2019, was headed by the Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, who, on that occasion, had a meeting with the then Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojković.
Economic relations
Economic cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Nepal is characterized by small-scale trade. The total trade exchange in 2022 amounted to 194,000 euros, of which the export from Serbia was 118,000 euros, and the import from Nepal was 76,000 euros.
The Nepalese company Cinnovation Group Foods Europe, which operates within the Chaudhary Group from Kathmandu, opened a factory in Ruma in October 2017 for the production of noodles and other semi-finished pasta products.
