Jovanović Confers with New Ambassador of Spain

During the meeting, the high level of bilateral relations between Serbia and Spain, founded on traditional friendship, mutual respect and understanding, was reaffirmed. The interlocutors noted that there remains considerable scope for further deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the economic sphere.

State Secretary Jovanović expressed her gratitude for the Kingdom of Spain’s consistent and principled position in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, underscoring the importance Serbia attaches to this position.

The interlocutors also emphasised that Serbia and Spain share a firm commitment to upholding international law and the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. In this context, they exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries within multilateral fora, as well as on opportunities for its further advancement.

The interlocutors also expressed satisfaction with the confirmation of the Kingdom of Spain’s participation in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade, noting that the event will provide an additional opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and foster closer ties between the two countries.
