Starovic: Djokovic is not to blame for being involved in a political game

Commenting on the conduct of Australian authorities towards Novak Djokovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starovic stated that the Serbian tennis player was involved in a political game through no fault of his own.

"Djokovic did not break any rules and laws and came to Australia in the spirit of good will to play tennis, but through no fault or intention of his own he was involved in a political game with the sole purpose of enabling the Australian government to flex its muscles", Starovic told the BBC.

This is something that is unacceptable for us, he pointed out and added that the government's decision to cancel Djokovic's visa and reopen the deportation procedure was another proof that this was a political game for which Djokovic was not to blame in any way.
