Serbia committed to strengthening of comprehensive relations with Ghana
The interlocutors mentioned the successful cooperation of the two countries in the period of the Non-Allied Movement and friendship of presidents Tito and Nkrumah. Minister Selaković expressed satisfaction and said that it was of special importance that Ghana, as one of the countries founders of NAM, at the event in our capital, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of holding the First conference of the Non-Allied Movement would be represented by Minister Botchway.
The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized the Serbia’s commitment to strengthening of comprehensive relations with Ghana and in this respect, the incentive effect of visits at the high and top level as well as regular political consultations of the two ministries at the level of state secretaries.
The Minister announced the continuation of the operation of the Serbian Embassy in Ghana which will be performed by the temporary charge d’affairs, adding that his arrival to Accra was expected by the end of the month.
The Minister said that Serbia had the interest to develop economic and trade exchange with Ghana, which at the SFRY time had reached USD 80 million per year, highlighting that there were potentials for cooperation in the field of energetics, agriculture, constructional engineering, information technologies, pharmacy.
Selaković also mentioned the cooperation in the field of high education through the program of scholarships for students from Ghana and that we expected their interest in and applications for studying in our country would continue.
