Serbia and Spain maintain traditionally strong relations
On this occasion, Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia and Spain share traditionally strong and friendly relations, underpinned by mutual interest in their continuous advancement across all areas of common concern.
The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed a strong commitment to making this year one of intensified cooperation with Spain, a valued partner and friend.
Minister Đurić conveyed Serbia’s deep appreciation for Spain’s steadfast position on respecting Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for its support in the international arena regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.
In this context, he underscored that unilateral actions by the provisional institutions in Priština are increasingly endangering the fundamental human rights of the Serbian people and other non-Albanian communities.
Minister Đurić reaffirmed Belgrade’s commitment to constructive dialogue, advocating for the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
He also reiterated that full membership in the European Union remains Serbia’s strategic priority and foreign policy goal, expressing Serbia’s high appreciation for Spain’s continuous support on this path.
Speaking on the further enhancement of bilateral ties, Minister Đurić highlighted the importance of strengthening economic cooperation, noting that the upcoming Specialized Expo 2027 represents an excellent opportunity to further deepen the comprehensive relations between the two countries.
