Minster Dacic continues diplomatic activity on the fringes of UNGA on the third day of visit to New York
Minister Dacic and his collocutors discussed possibilities for the further strengthening of bilateral political cooperation and cooperation and in other areas such as the economy, culture, education and agriculture.
At the meeting with Foreign Minister of Mongolia Batmunkh Battsetseg, Minister Dacic assessed that the bilateral relations were good and traditionally friendly and emphasized an interest in intensifying the political dialogue, while at the meeting with the Head of diplomacy of Equatorial Guinea Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, he underlined Serbia’s strong commitment to deepening all-round cooperation and expressed gratitude for the support lent to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
With Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister Dacic discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation and other forms of mutually beneficial cooperation. In the talks with Foreign Minister of Panama Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, Dacic said that he believed mutually beneficial cooperation could be established in many areas.
At the meeting with Somali Foreign Minister Abshir Omar Jama, Dacic noted that he hoped bilateral economic cooperation would be intensified as it held significant but as yet untapped potential. Minister Dacic and Foreign Minister of Timor-Leste Bendito dos Santos Freitas discussed advancement of political dialogue with a view to contributing to better understanding and further development of overall bilateral cooperation.
Foreign Minister Dacic told his Greek counterpart George Gerapetritis that Serbia viewed the historical closeness between the Serbs and Greeks as the foundation of multi-faceted bilateral cooperation. At the meeting with UNOPS Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva, Dacic expressed the expectation that successful cooperation and implementation of concrete development projects with this UN specialized agency would be continued in the period to come.
Furthermore, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic also had brief meetings and talks with Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shoukry and Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic.
Minister Dacic also attended the working lunch of the members of the Central European Initiative hosted by the Moldovan Presidency of the Initiative, which was another good opportunity to exchange views on current issues within the framework of the Central European Initiative.
Dacic emphasized that Serbia attached special significance to the promotion of regional cooperation, especially through participating in regional initiatives, in particular, due to their contribution to building mutual trust, to the reconciliation process and to encouraging overall development.
