Minister Đurić in talks with the Prime Minister of Romania in Bucharest
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Đurić had talks today in Bucharest with the Prime Minister of Romania, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.
Expressing his satisfaction over today’s meeting, Minister Đurić conveyed regards from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, underlining that this visit will give an additional impetus to the relations between the two countries.
He said that Serbia and Romania are bound by traditional historical friendship and added that our country is committed to deepening cooperation and expanding dialogue in all areas.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed special gratitude for Romania’s continuous support for Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, that is, for its consistent and principled position concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.
Đurić underlined that full membership of the European Union is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia’s foreign policy and thanked Romania for the support it lends us on that path.
When it comes to economic cooperation, the Minister noted that economic relations between Serbia and Romania have significant room for additional development.
According to him, economic cooperation needs to be developed further through the implementation of important projects, especially in the fields of energy and infrastructure.
At today’s meeting, Minister Đurić and his collocutor also exchanged views on current global topics and issues of common interest.
