12. Sep 2024.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Đurić met today with Head of Delegation of the European Union to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret with whom he discussed Serbia's European path and the current events in Kosovo and Metohija.

Emphasizing that membership of the European Union remained a strategic commitment and a priority of the foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia, Minister Đurić expressed the expectation that the new European Commission would be devoted to the issue of enlargement to a greater extent and that this issue would truly be at the top of its list of priorities.

Minister Đurić said that Serbia remained committed to implementing the reform agenda on its path to full membership of the European Union.

Informing his collocutor about the problems faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, the Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that the recent unilateral actions of Pristina in the north of the province were a continuation of a policy of intimidation, which ultimately aimed at expelling Serbs.

Minister Đurić reiterated that Serbia was committed to resolving the problems in Kosovo and Metohija through dialogue, but also warned that we were witnessing the fact that the constructiveness of one side was not enough for progress towards finding mutually acceptable solutions.
