Minister Đurić with the head of French diplomacy, Barrot
The head of Serbian diplomacy highlighted that Serbia and France cherish a traditional friendship, emphasizing that the relations between our two countries are today characterized by a strategic partnership, which is also the result of excellent personal relationships between the two presidents, Aleksandar Vučić and Emmanuel Macron.
Given that Serbia presides over the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) this year, Đurić expressed satisfaction with the joint organization of the Ministerial Meeting in Paris, assessing that artificial intelligence provides additional opportunities for further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Minister Đurić reminded that Serbia will host the Specialized Exhibition "Expo 2027" and expressed hope that France will participate in this significant international event.
According to the head of Serbian diplomacy, the process of European integration remains high on our agenda, and Serbia hopes that Negotiating Cluster 3 will soon be opened, with the support of France being of immense importance.
Đurić thanked for the support France provides on our European path, pointing out that Serbia will complete all political, legislative, and institutional reforms necessary for membership by the end of 2026.
Regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, opinions were exchanged on the further perspective of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, especially in the context of the appointment of the new EU special envoy.
In this regard, Đurić pointed to constant provocations and violations of the basic human rights of Serbs and other non-Albanian populations by the regime in Priština.
Serbia remains committed to preserving peace and stability in the region, said Đurić, emphasizing that dialogue, in which there will be a stronger presence of the international community, is the only way to find a solution.
