Minister Đurić extends condolences on the passing of David Vujić
"I received with great sadness the news of the passing of David Vujić, a highly respected and esteemed engineer, and one of the seven Serbian scientists who contributed to NASA’s team responsible for the historic success of the Apollo 11 mission. His contributions to global science and space exploration will forever be recorded in history," the Serbian Foreign Minister Đurić stated.
According to Minister Đurić, David Vujić was not only an outstanding expert in his field but also a great patriot who took pride in his Serbian heritage.
"Vujić was among the many Serbs whose knowledge and talent helped shape the foundations of American society and progress. His legacy will remain a lasting bond between Serbia and the United States," the Minister emphasized.
He further highlighted that Vujić's work has inspired generations of young scientists and engineers, proving that talent and dedication can push the boundaries of what is possible.
"He will also be remembered as a man who never forgot his people in difficult times, extending his support to those in need following the NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999," Đurić recalled.
In recognition of his scientific achievements and his deep commitment to his people, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić awarded Vujić the Order of the Karađorđe's Star, First Degree.
"To his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, I extend my heartfelt condolences. His memory will live on through the legacy he leaves for future generations and the values he upheld. May he rest in eternal glory and peace," the Serbian Foreign Minister concluded.
