Minister Djurić confers with the officials of the Central European Initiative

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djurić had talks today with the current Secretary General of the Central European Initiative (CEI) Roberto Antonione and the newly elected Secretary General Franco Dal Maso.

Minister Djurić thanked Secretary General Antonione for his successful stewardship of the CEI Secretariat and congratulated the new Secretary General Franco Dal Maso on his election, expressing his belief that the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and the CEI Secretariat will continue to be as successful as it has been so far.

The head of Serbian Diplomacy pointed out that Serbia devotes great attention to improving regional cooperation and fostering good neighborly relations, emphasizing that they are an inseparable part of European integration and, at the same time, one of the priorities of the country’s foreign policy.

He also stressed that Serbia's vital national interest is to maintain stability in the region and to focus on more intensive cooperation in all areas. Serbia, as he explained, advocates for encouraging economic cooperation, infrastructural connectivity in the region, as well as joint political actions and initiatives.

Minister Djurić emphasized that in 2025, during its chairmanship of the Central European Initiative, Serbia will work dedicatedly on achieving the strategic goals of the CEI and intensifying cooperation and political dialogue between member states. In this regard, he particularly underlined the fact that accelerating the European integration process is the core mission of the CEI and the common goal of all its members.
