Minister Djuric and Congresswoman Tenney discuss further development of Serbia-U.S. ties

On the fringes of the NATO Summit in Washington, D.C., Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Djuric met with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, co-chair of the Serbia Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Minister Djuric informed Congresswoman Tenney about Serbia's foreign policy priorities for the coming period and noted that, among other objectives, the policy would focus on continuing to develop quality political and economic relations with the United States.

The Serbian Foreign Minister said that he hoped the U.S. administration would continue to see Serbia as a constructive and credible partner and that the members of the Congressional Serbia Caucus would be a guarantee of creating an objective image of a modern Serbia and its successes.

Djuric said that Serbia would continue to play a key role in preserving peace and stability in the Western Balkans and emphasized that stability was a prerequisite for continued societal and economic development of the country, which he said also had the capacity to be an engine of development of the entire region.

Informing his collocutor of the latest economic indicators and the fact Serbia achieved the highest economic growth rate in Europe in Q1 2024, Minister Djuric said that he hoped that, through investments and other forms of economic cooperation, the United States would continue to play a major role in Serbia's development plans..
