Minister Dacic meets with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly

On the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

The ministers discussed overall bilateral relations and also exchanged views on current global issues.

Head of Serbian diplomacy Dacic reiterated Serbia's commitment to adherence to the Charter of the United Nations and UN Security Council Resolution 1244, and thanked for the support lent to the territorial integrity and sovereignty.

He also informed his Russian counterpart about the difficult situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and the constant harassment and persecution of the Serbian people there.

The interlocutors also discussed the next meeting of the Security Council on Kosovo and Metohija.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov extended congratulations on Serbia’s successful bid to host the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027.
