Lecture by Minister Đurić to Political Science students from Clemson University

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, addressed today the political science students from Clemson University in South Carolina, who are visiting our country as part of a study trip.

Welcoming the gathered students and their professors, Minister Đurić thanked them for choosing Serbia as a destination for their academic research, emphasizing that this program is a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into the historical, political, and economic aspects of our country.

At the beginning of his address, Minister Đurić spoke about Serbia’s strategic goals, foreign policy priorities, as well as the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and current developments in the region.

Speaking on regional topics, Đurić underlined that Serbia, firmly committed to regional stability and progress, is actively engaged in building good-neighborly relations and supports all initiatives aimed at greater regional integration and peace.

The Serbian Foreign Minister also spoke about Serbia–United States relations, highlighting their continued development, with a special focus on political dialogue, economic cooperation, and regional stability.

Stating that Serbia’s path toward the European Union remains one of its key priorities, he added that the country is firmly committed to continuing the integration process, while at the same time safeguarding its national interests and enhancing its economic, legal, and institutional capacities.

The Minister also emphasized that Serbia maintains its traditional friendships, recalling the country’s close ties with African nations based on principles of mutual respect and solidarity.

Regarding the economy, the Minister pointed out that Serbia has been recording stable economic growth, with positive results in industrial production, exports, and infrastructure development. He noted that Serbia is currently implementing a range of economic reforms aimed at increasing investment, improving the business environment, and creating new jobs.

Minister Đurić told the students that their understanding of the Balkans and the region would be of immense importance for building future international connections and expressed confidence that their visit to Serbia would contribute to strengthening the ties between our countries.

“Understanding this region is one of the key steps in building future stable and responsible international relations,” concluded Minister Đurić.

As part of their visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Clemson University students also toured the Museum of Serbian Diplomacy, where Ambassador Marina Jovićević, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented the museum’s permanent exhibition. The visit was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade.
