Joint engagement to intensify cooperation of Serbia and Somalia
Selaković reminded about long history of diplomatic relations which were established in 1960 and mentioned successful cooperation of the two countries in the Non-Allied Movement. He emphasized that, in this period exactly, economic cooperation was developed and the fact that numerous students from Somalia acquired education in our country.
Selaković said that Serbia, within the initiative “World in Serbia”, would increase the number of scholarships for studying in our country and invited young people from Somalia to use this opportunity.
According to Serbian Foreign Minister, it is necessary now, with joint engagement, to intensify contacts and improve the complete cooperation of the two countries. With regards to this, Minister Selaković especially highlighted the importance and expressed great satisfaction because of re-opening of the Embassy of Somalia in Belgrade and renewal of the diplomatic presence in Serbia.
Selaković presented our openness for the development of economic cooperation but also of the cooperation in the field of trade, agriculture and IT industry.
Selaković expressed hope that the delegation of Somalia, the country founder of the Non-Allied Movement, would take part in the meeting in Belgrade, on 11th and 12th October when the 60th anniversary of the First conference of the non-allied would be celebrated.
