Gratitude to Poland for supporting Serbia's European integration
Selaković expressed gratitude to Poland for providing support to Serbia in the process of European integration and pointed out that Poland belongs to the group of European Union member states that are actively committed to the continuation of the enlargement process. In this regard, the Minister pointed out that the experience that Poland wants to share with our region, both as a member of the EU and as a member of the Visegrad Group, is very important.
The head of Serbian diplomacy said that full membership in the EU is a strategic foreign policy goal and that Serbia remains fully committed to the reform process, and that it readily expects the next Intergovernmental Conference between Serbia and the EU.
We will continue to work with our partners for the purpose of further integration, and the Polish experience and exchange of knowledge in areas that are important to us would be valuable to us, Selaković said.
Informing his interlocutor about regional cooperation, Selaković said that it is of key interest for Serbia to preserve stability in the region and the orientation of all countries in the region towards more intensive cooperation in all areas, because only such a region enables the development of Serbia itself.
The Minister once again underlined the importance of the "mini Schengen" initiative and pointed out that it is an example that we, as candidates for EU membership, are committed to regional cooperation and building peace and stability in the Balkans.
Serbia approaches the dialogue and the process of normalization of relations with Pristina responsibly, committed and in good faith, but with the expectation that our views and arguments will be respected, that there will be understanding for Serbia's vital state interests, and that a compromise agreement will be reached, which means everything to no one, and enough to everyone, concluded Minister Selaković.
