Foreign Minister Đurić Meets with Dutch Foreign Minister in Brussels

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met today in Brussels, on the sidelines of the meeting of EU foreign ministers and partners from the Western Balkans, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Tom Berendsen.

The interlocutors discussed the most important issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as opportunities for further enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Speaking about the European integration process, Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia views the Netherlands as an important partner in its accession process to the European Union, bearing in mind the country’s significant role in the context of enlargement dynamics. He reiterated that EU membership remains Serbia’s strategic commitment and a foreign policy priority, adding that the opening of Cluster 3 would contribute not only to accelerating the negotiation process. Minister Đurić also pointed to the potential benefits of the gradual integration of the Western Balkan partners into the Schengen Area and the European Union’s Single Market.

Recalling that the Netherlands is an important economic partner of Serbia and one of its largest foreign investors, the head of Serbian diplomacy expressed readiness for further strengthening bilateral relations.
