Final year students started their internship at the MFA
The students were greeted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Nikola Selaković, who wished them a warm welcome and augured that that may greatly expand their knowledge during the internship.
"I am glad that we all have the opportunity to start something completely new at the MFA." - Mr. Selakovič said, further emphasizing that the beginning of their professional internship is the implementation of what was initiated by the last year's signing of the Protocol on Cooperation between the Ministry and 15 faculties from six state universities.
FM Selaković observed that, when he took the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs, he realized that the Ministry lacked fresh young staff, and that this project was launched soon afterwards. He also pointed out that the initial support for the project was given by President Aleksandar Vučić and expressed hope that this practice would become a tradition in the MFA.
The Minister specified that the internship will encompass 63 students, 31 of whom are from the Universities of Niš, Kragujevac, Novi Sad and Kosovska Mitrovica, and especially thanked the Ministry of Education for its support in ensuring adequate accommodation of interns during their stay in Belgrade.
Minister Selaković thanked everyone in the Ministry who worked on this project, and wished success in gaining new knowledge and forging friendships during their internship.
"If you want to do this job honestly, properly and with dedication, you must love Serbia. This work cannot be done without patriotism." - the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia concluded his address.
Minister Selaković revealed that those who prove to be the best during the internship may be given the opportunity to continue working at the MFA after completing their studies and meeting all the legal requirements.
