Đurić lays a wreath at the monument to Children Victims of the NATO airstrikes
The delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs included Secretary General Dušan Kozarev and State Secretary Nikola Stojanović.
On this occasion, wreaths were also laid by delegations from the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of the City of Belgrade and municipal authorities, family members of those who lost their lives in the NATO airstrikes, a representative of the company Novosti, as well as members of the diplomatic corps, the Belgrade Forum for a World of Equals, the Serbian Veterans' Association (SUBNOR), and other veterans' organizations.
The monument in Tašmajdan Park is dedicated to the memory of children who lost their lives between March 24 and June 10, 1999. It was erected by the daily newspaper Večernje Novosti with the support of its readers, shortly after the NATO air campaign against Serbia ended.
On this day 26 years ago, NATO launched its air campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which lasted for 78 days, resulted in numerous casualties, and caused extensive material damage.
