Today, the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić, held discussions with Zhang Weiwei, a Chinese professor of international relations at Fudan University and director of the Chinese Institute at Fudan University.

Minister Đurić expressed his pleasure with today’s meeting and the opportunity to host the Chinese professor, who is visiting Belgrade for the first time in nearly four decades.

The head of Serbian diplomacy highlighted the "ironclad friendship" between Serbia and China, further strengthened by the close relationship between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Bearing this in mind, he emphasized that the relations between the two countries are characterized by successes achieved across all domains of cooperation.

Reflecting on the most momentous events of the past four decades, which are crucial for understanding Serbia's current position, Minister Đurić and his counterpart discussed important geopolitical themes and processes shaping today’s international relations.

In light of current challenges in the international arena, Đurić pointed out that it is imperative for Serbia to continue its economic empowerment and development across all fields, maintaining an open policy towards all, and by strengthening relations with Chinese friends, aiming to become a sort of bridge between Europe and China.

The key word necessary for national and individual success in the times we live in is adaptability, Minister Đurić concluded.
