The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, underlined today, in his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili, on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna, that Serbia attaches great importance to further developing relations with Georgia and deepening overall cooperation.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia is firmly committed to advancing bilateral cooperation, building on the traditionally friendly and close ties between Serbia and Georgia, primarily through the intensification of political dialogue at the highest and high levels.

He recalled that this year marked an important anniversary - the thirtieth year since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Georgia - and noted that this milestone presents an opportunity to further strengthen the already robust cooperation.

Of particular significance, he noted, is the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Georgia, stressing that the establishment of a diplomatic mission will further reinforce political dialogue and enhance economic and other forms of cooperation between the two countries.

Đurić added that Serbia is interested in further improving economic cooperation with Georgia and that, in this context, the launch of discussions on the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement is of immense importance.
