Đurić confers with the Foreign Minister of Saint Lucia

On the margins of the 55th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States held in Antigua and Barbuda, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Saint Lucia, Alva Romanus Baptiste.

Acknowledging the positive momentum in the development of bilateral relations between Serbia and Saint Lucia, Minister Đurić emphasized Serbia’s interest in intensifying political dialogue, enhancing parliamentary cooperation, and establishing a more regular exchange of views on issues of mutual importance.

He further expressed Serbia’s intention to strengthen cooperation with Saint Lucia also within regional organizations.

Minister Đurić extended his gratitude to Saint Lucia for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, underscoring that such a position reaffirms the country’s commitment to the core principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The meeting also included discussions on opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation. Minister Đurić placed particular emphasis on cooperation in the field of education within the framework of the “World in Serbia” programme, inviting students from Saint Lucia to continue applying for fully funded studies in Serbia.

During today’s meeting, the Minister also informed his counterpart about the preparations for the Specialized Expo 2027, expressing satisfaction that Saint Lucia has confirmed its participation in this prestigious international event.
