Đurić confers with the Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today in New York, on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Diaspora of the Republic of Burkina Faso, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, to discuss the potential for cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Đurić expressed his conviction that the period ahead will bring intensified political dialogue, enhanced cooperation, and exchanges of high-level visits. He also extended an invitation to Minister Traoré to visit the Republic of Serbia.

He emphasized that Serbia highly values Burkina Faso’s support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

In discussing the advancement of relations and possibilities for concrete cooperation in areas of mutual interest, Minister Đurić noted the importance of strengthening the contractual framework between the two states.

The two foreign ministers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Diaspora of Burkina Faso, as well as a Memorandum between the two ministries on Political Consultations, expressing their confidence that these documents will contribute to closer communication and stronger contacts between their respective foreign ministries.
