Đurić confers with British Minister Steven Doughty
Minister Đurić emphasized Serbia's clear interest in discussing the further enhancement of political dialogue and cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
In this context, the Minister expressed hope that the dialogue and political relations between the two countries would move towards establishing a mutually beneficial strategic dialogue.
Speaking about the economic cooperation between Serbia and the United Kingdom, Minister Đurić pointed out that the Partnership, Trade, and Cooperation Agreement between the two governments is very important and represents a significant foundation but also noted that there is room for further enhancement of cooperation and an increase in the volume of trade.
Regarding Serbia's European integration, Đurić stated that membership in the European Union is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia's foreign policy, highlighting our shared European values and our desire to contribute to the peace, stability, and prosperity of Europe.
The head of Serbian diplomacy informed the British Minister about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, emphasizing that the constant provocations and unilateral actions by Pristina are unacceptable and represent a continuation of policies of terror and intimidation.
He reiterated that Belgrade is fully committed to dialogue with Pristina, but that at this moment, it is primarily necessary to ensure the safety of the Serbian population, immediately implement all obligations from the agreements reached so far, and guarantee the respect for the electoral will of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
