Đurić confers with the Ambassador of Egypt

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Serbia, Ahmed Salam Soliman, to discuss the further enhancement of the traditionally close and friendly relations between the two countries, as well as issues of mutual interest.

Noting that Serbia–Egypt relations are characterized by historic friendship, a well-developed political dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation across numerous areas of shared importance, Minister Đurić emphasized Serbia’s firm commitment to their continued advancement and deepening.

He underlined that ties between Serbia and Egypt have strengthened considerably in recent years, owing to the personal dedication and contributions of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Addressing economic cooperation, Đurić stressed Serbia’s commitment to its further strengthening with friendly Egypt, highlighting the importance of the Free Trade Agreement as a new phase in the development of bilateral economic relations. He noted that the greatest potential for expanded cooperation lies in the agri-food sector, defense-related economic cooperation, and the IT sector, as well as in tourism and energy.

With regard to the regional situation, the head of Serbian diplomacy emphasized that Serbia will continue to act responsibly and constructively as a factor of stability, with a clear focus on preserving peace, fostering regional cooperation, and promoting economic development.

Đurić expressed satisfaction with the confirmation of Egypt’s participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade, underscoring that Egypt’s presence will represent a significant contribution to the international character of the event and further strengthen overall relations between the two countries.

Minister Đurić wished the Ambassador of Egypt every success in the performance of his duties, reaffirming the Ministry’s full readiness to provide all necessary support in further advancing cooperation and the friendly relations between the two nations.
