Djuric: Ample room for deepening all forms of cooperation between Serbia and Brazil

Taking part in the 54th session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Asuncion, Paraguay, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met with the Secretary General of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Maria Laura da Rocha.

On that occasion, Minister Djuric pointed out that Brazil was one of Serbia's most important political and economic partners in Latin America and that there was an unquestionable interest in continued deepening of all forms of cooperation.

He noted that Serbia-Brazil diplomatic relations dated back to 1938 and that the decades-long friendly ties between the two countries were also reflected in the support of Brazil to the preservation of Serbian national interests today.

Minister Djuric assessed that exchanging official visits in the period to come would strengthen the cooperation further and that maintaining political dialogue between the two foreign ministries was in mutual interest.

Regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the Minister emphasized that this issue was the top national and state priority, and that Serbia highly appreciated the principled position of Brazil when it comes to respecting its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The head of Serbian diplomacy reminded that Serbia would host the Specialized International Exhibition EXPO in 2027, and stated that we would greatly appreciate Brazil's participation in this prestigious event.
