First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić had a meeting today with the President of the National Council of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia as part of his visit to the region.

The two officials expressed their desire to further improve dynamic bilateral relations through meetings between the highest officials of the two countries, especially bearing in mind that next year marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Austria.

Minister Dačić emphasised the importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, which contributes to overall political relations. The Austrian official reiterated the support to the Republic of Serbia on the way to membership in the European Union.

In addition to the exchange of opinions on bilateral relations and the European integration of Serbia, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the situation in the region and current international issues were discussed.
