Visit of the State-Economic Delegation to Tripoli: Stojanović meets with Libyan Foreign Ministry Officials

Today at the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a meeting was held between State Secretary Nikola Stojanović, Director of the Department for European Affairs Abu Bakr Ibrahim Al-Tawil, and Director of the Department for International Cooperation Ashraf Mohamed El-Taeb.

In a friendly and open atmosphere, it was acknowledged that there is a political willingness on both sides to work towards the reinforcement and further development of bilateral relations, the foundations of which were laid over 70 years ago.

The discussions particularly emphasized economic cooperation. The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Stojanović, acquainted his counterparts with the current macroeconomic indicators and successes of Serbia, highlighting sectors of the economy with significant potential for collaboration.

Furthermore, the delegation members discussed the education of Libyan students in Serbia, including courses and lectures for diplomats, as well as areas where Serbia holds expertise that could contribute to Libya's development, such as the healthcare sector.

Stojanović expressed gratitude to the Libyan side for supporting Serbia's bid to host the Specialized Expo 2027 and welcomed Libya's participation in this significant event.

Libyan officials informed about the activities of the Government of National Unity aimed at developing the country, establishing and maintaining stability, especially highlighting the openness and desire of Libyan authorities for cooperation with international partners to encourage the return of foreign companies to the Libyan market and to utilize the numerous potentials that the country holds.

As noted, Serbia, with whom Libya shares historic and highly valued friendly relations, is welcomed as a partner in all areas of mutual interest.
