13. Mar 2025.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Stojanović, met today with Florence Bauer, the Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Both parties agreed that the cooperation between Serbia and UNFPA has been successful and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing the partnership in areas of mutual interest.
Florence Bauer is currently in Serbia as part of the preparations for the international conference on demographic trends, which, at the initiative of the Ministry for Family Care and Demography, is scheduled to be held in Serbia in 2025. The conference will focus on the status of women—particularly those in rural areas—and address issues related to their economic and social empowerment.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Katarina Lalić Smajević, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Cooperation.
