Starović expressed gratitude for Iraq's principled position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija

The first political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Iraq were held today in Belgrade. The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia was led by State Secretary Nemanja Starović, and the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq was led by Senior State Secretary Nazar Issa Al-Khairullah.

Representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries stated that Serbia and Iraq are bound by decades of friendship, solidarity and respect, which is a good basis for further development and improvement of overall relations.

State Secretary Nemanja Starović expressed special gratitude for Iraq's principled position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and at the same time expressed support for the territorial integrity of Iraq.

Opinions were exchanged on ways to strengthen political dialogue and on concrete steps that need to be taken in order to deepen and expand economic cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, construction and information and communication technologies.

Opportunities for intensifying the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of culture, education and sports were also considered.
