Secretary General Kozarev: Traditionally good relations between Serbia and Spain
On that occasion, the interlocutors agreed that Serbia and Spain are two friendly countries, which traditionally foster good bilateral relations at all levels.
They pointed out that there are opportunities for even stronger economic ties between the two countries in all areas, reminding that "Air Serbia" has regular direct flights to four Spanish cities, while during the tourist season our national airline flies to as many as five different destinations in Spain.
At the meeting, Kozarev and Aparicio reiterated the principled positions regarding mutual respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries based on international law and the UN Charter.
Regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Kozarev pointed out that Serbs in our southern province are exposed to daily pressures from Kurti's regime, adding that not only do they live in constant fear for their safety, but their basic human rights are also threatened.
Kozarev noted that Belgrade is committed to preserving peace and stability, as well as that it is willing to be a constructive interlocutor in the dialogue process with Pristina, but that it has been facing unilateral decisions being made as part of Albin Kurti's policy for a long time now.
According to Kozarev, resolving the situation in Kosovo and Metohija needs to return to the focus of the international community, in order to find a sustainable solution, while guaranteeing the implementation of the agreements signed so far.
The interlocutors underlined the special contribution made by the Spanish Cultural Centre - Cervantes Institute in Belgrade to the strengthening of mutual ties, affirming the readiness of the two ministries for cooperation on all issues of mutual interest.
