Lecture by the State Secretary Jović to Students of the University of Edinburgh

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Damjan Jović, delivered a lecture today to members of the Diplomatic Society at the University of Edinburgh.

During his address, the State Secretary presented the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Serbia, with particular reference to current geopolitical developments and Serbia’s positioning on the global stage.

Mr. Jović emphasized that Serbia’s strategic objectives include the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the creation of conditions conducive to social and economic development, full membership in the European Union, regional peace and stability, strong relations with leading global powers such as the United States, Russia, and China, as well as the advancement of traditionally friendly relations with countries of the Global South.

He also underlined Serbia’s commitment to fostering good neighborly relations, viewing them as a prerequisite for progress throughout this part of Europe, especially in the economic sphere.

In his remarks, Jović paid special attention to the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, highlighting the difficult circumstances faced by the Serbian population in the province.

The concluding part of the lecture was dedicated to a Q&A session, during which students posed a series of questions to State Secretary Jović.
