Kozarev on a working visit to Mexico

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Ambassador María Teresa Mercado Pérez, as well as the Director General for Europe at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador José Octavio Tripp, during his working visit to Mexico.

In a cordial and open discussion, both sides reaffirmed the traditionally strong and high-level relations between Serbia and Mexico, underscored by deep-rooted and friendly ties between their peoples.

Particular emphasis was placed on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026, with both parties expressing readiness to jointly define a program of celebrations, including various cultural and academic events.

The meeting also reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening political dialogue through high-level and top-level exchanges, as well as the continuation of bilateral political consultations between the two ministries.

Kozarev highlighted the significance of the upcoming Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade, expressing Serbia’s expectation that Mexico would participate in this prestigious international event.

The Secretary General conveyed Serbia’s appreciation for Mexico’s consistent stance on upholding international law, as well as the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

Kozarev also briefed his interlocutors on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, emphasizing the difficult position of the Serbian community in the province due to the repressive actions of Kurti’s administration.
