Kozarev confers with Deputy Foreign Minister of Guatemala

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met today on the margins of the 55th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Antigua and Barbuda with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Mónica Bolaños Pérez.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the close relations between the two countries, grounded in mutual understanding and alignment on all key issues, with particularly intensive coordination on the international stage.

The officials welcomed the agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of ordinary passports, which is expected to enter into force soon following the completion of ratification procedures on both sides.

Kozarev expressed gratitude for Guatemala’s firm and unequivocal support for Serbia’s territorial integrity, along with its consistent advocacy for the respect of international law. He also invited Deputy Minister Bolaños to encourage more students from Guatemala to participate in the “World in Serbia” scholarship program.

Both sides expressed confidence that further efforts should be made to strengthen cooperation across all areas of mutual interest and noted that Guatemala’s participation in Expo 2027 would positively contribute to bilateral ties and to the broader promotion of the Balkan and Central American regions.
