Jovanović Attends Meeting on Regional Cooperation in New York

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nevena Jovanović participated in a meeting on regional cooperation hosted by Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting brought together participants from the Central European Initiative (CEI), currently chaired by Romania, and the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), currently chaired by Bulgaria.

Participants exchanged views on the role of regional cooperation frameworks in the current geopolitical context, with particular emphasis on strengthening connectivity, stability and societal resilience.

In her remarks, Jovanović emphasised that Serbia attaches great importance to constructive engagement in regional initiatives as valuable instruments for building trust and delivering tangible benefits to citizens.

She underscored that, despite the challenges it faces, Serbia remains firmly committed to preserving peace and stability, strengthening cooperation, and creating the conditions for a connected, prosperous and forward-looking region.
