Dačić and Kulubaev on possibilities for improving overall cooperation
Minister Dačić expressed his belief that today's conversation would contribute to the intensification of the overall political cooperation at the high and highest levels, in view of the fact that this was the first official visit of a Serbian Foreign Minister to the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as that this year marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Kyrgyzstan.
He said that it was necessary to revitalise the mechanism of political consultations with a view to strengthening political dialogue and guiding our cooperation.
Minister Dačić emphasised that Serbia was committed to further developing the traditionally friendly relations and improving the overall cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, with an emphasis on the economic and trade relations, and added that, in view of the existing level of economic cooperation, attention should be directed in the upcoming period to deepening the cooperation in the field of agriculture, textile industry and food industry, as well as energy, culture, sports, education and science.
He expressed his gratitude for the strong and consistent support that the Kyrgyz Republic was providing to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and Serbia’s efforts to resolve the matter of Kosovo and Metohija peacefully and diplomatically, through dialogue and observance of the Resolution SC UN 1244 (1999).
Minister Kulubaev agreed that joint efforts needed to be invested in improving bilateral cooperation of our countries through regular maintenance of political consultations.
He also agreed that there were many unused opportunities in the field of economic cooperation and suggested the establishment of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, whose activity would contribute to the improvement of cooperation in many fields.
Minister Dačić and Minister Kulubaev signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Diplomatic Academies and the Cooperation Agreement between the two Ministries 2023–2025, with mutual agreement that the existing bilateral legal basis should be expanded by signing new cooperation agreements in fields of mutual interest.
Minister Dačić invited Minister Kulubaev to visit Serbia in the second half of this year, which the latter gladly accepted.
