A Century-Long Friendship between Serbia and Argentina
On this occasion, Secretary General Kozarev emphasized the need to intensify political dialogue and to advance cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of reciprocal support within international organizations.
Ambassador Marsico reaffirmed that Argentina continues to firmly advocate for the respect of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, offering its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, particularly with regard to Kosovo and Metohija.
The Ambassador conveyed that his country is closely monitoring developments in the region, especially the recent events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In that context, Secretary General Kozarev briefed the Ambassador on the failed attempt at a color revolution, which has culminated in the ongoing ten-day blockade of the national public broadcaster RTS.
Speaking about developments both domestically and across the region, Secretary General Kozarev underscored that Serbia remains committed to preserving peace and stability, recognizing them as essential preconditions for the overall progress of all countries in its immediate neighborhood.
Acknowledging room for enhanced cooperation through high-level and top-level exchanges, the two officials discussed the strengthening of economic and political relations, as well as technical and personnel cooperation between the two ministries of foreign affairs.
They also expressed satisfaction with Argentina’s participation in this year’s International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, where 13 Argentine companies are expected to take part.
In addition, the Secretary General reiterated his invitation for Argentina to participate in the Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade, stating it would be an honor to welcome a delegation from friendly Argentina to this important international event.
