Vienna: Ambassador Rodić with MP Kugler

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Vienna, Nebojša Rodić, met today with Gudrun Kugler, the new president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Austria-Serbia and a member of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP).

On that occasion, Ambassador Rodić informed his interlocutor about economic indicators, reminding that over 22,000 people in the Republic of Serbia are employed in Austrian companies, as well as that Serbia has turned from a country from which the labor force leaves into a country that imports labor force. MP Kugler agreed with what was stated, pointing out that Austria perceives Serbia as "Germany of the Western Balkans".

The chairwoman of the Friendship Group stated that she was very motivated to work on strengthening parliamentary cooperation with Serbia, not only because of the excellent overall bilateral relations that are at the historical maximum, but also because of the number and influence of the Serbian diaspora in Austria.

During the meeting, it was agreed that in the following period, the Parliamentary Friendship Group Austria-Serbia will visit Belgrade and meet with the deputies of the Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
