A video conference was held between the Development Agency of Serbia and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations

The video conference of the Development Agency of Serbia and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations was held with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Madrid.

The conference was attended by Acting Director of the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), Radoš Gazdić, President of CEOE International, Marta Blanco, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Madrid, Katarina Lalić Smajević and Deputy Director General for Asia, Europe and Oceania Veronica Samper.

Ambassador Lalić Smajević pointed out that during the talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, and Spanish officials in Madrid, it was assessed that the relations between Spain and Serbia are extraordinary, without open issues, and that there is mutual support for vital national interests of both countries, while the potential for improving economic relations was emphasized.

Also, Ambassador Lalić Smajević presented the indicators of development of the Serbian economy and the efforts that the Government of Serbia is investing in the reform processes, emphasizing the success in immunizing the population in Serbia.

Acting Director of RAS, Radoš Gazdić, informed the participants about the advantages of investing in Serbia through the presentation "Invest in Serbia", pointing out the plans for the development of traffic and road infrastructure, which is of key importance for further improvement of the business climate and for attracting foreign investments.

The President of CEOE thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Madrid for the initiative, emphasizing that the conference is an important step for the further strengthening of economic relations between Serbia and Spain.

She also expressed satisfaction that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Selaković, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Laya, pointed out the importance of holding a meeting between RAS and CEOE.

The Deputy Director General for Asia, Europe and Oceania stated that Serbia and Spain have excellent bilateral relations, emphasizing the continuous growth of foreign direct investment in the last few years, which singled out Serbia as a leader in the region.

Samper pointed out that last year, Spanish exports to Serbia increased by 10% compared to the previous year, as did imports from Serbia to Spain.

The conference was also attended by representatives of ten Spanish companies, such as ACCIONA, INDRA, FIAB, CAF and others.
