Trebinje: Consul General Vujić met with Mayor Mirko Ćurić
Mayor Ćurić pointed out that cooperation in all areas was at the highest level in history, as a result of continuous support that the President and the Government of the Republic of Serbia provided not only to Trebinje and its surroundings, but also to East Herzegovina and the entire Republika Srpska.
As an example of excellent cooperation, Mayor Ćurić highlighted the recent action of extinguishing forest fires in which helicopters of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia also took part. He emphasised that the announced construction of an airport would be extremely important in achieving the full tourist potential of the city of Trebinje and it would facilitate the connection of the citizens of Herzegovina with Belgrade, to which they are historically linked.
Consul General Vujić thanked the host for the welcome and informed him that one of the main priorities of President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić and every Government of Serbia in the last 10 years was the aid to Republika Srpska, reflected in numerous projects financed or co-financed by the Government of Serbia, including kindergarten “Srbija” in Trebinje the construction of which has been completed, the ongoing renovation of the Old Town in Trebinje and the planned construction of the airport in Trebinje.
The Consul General informed the Mayor that his door, as well as the doors of the consular office in Trebinje were always open to all proposals that would enable a better and easier life for the citizens of Trebinje and the surrounding area, and that as many such projects as possible should be supported, and that he would do everything necessary to obtain the required support from the competent institutions of the Republic of Serbia.
After the meeting, the Mayor and the Consul General visited the kindergarten “Srbija” in Trebinje, where the kindergarten director provided them basic information and informed them of the occupancy of the kindergarten, located in the most populated part of Trebinje, after which they visited the Old Town, where street paving works and rehabilitation of old walls were underway.
On that occasion the Mayor informed about the works already completed, as well as the upcoming works, and once again thanked the Republic of Serbia for the allocated funds, given the Old Town was a tourist jewel from which Trebinje lived and developed.
