Tokyo: Reception for the diaspora on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of friendship between Serbia and Japan
Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Tokyo Aleksandra Kovač thanked the citizens for their contribution to spreading awareness about Serbia, its culture and customs in Japan, as well as to strengthening ties between the two nations. She invited the citizens to keep participating in the activities and cultural events organised by the Embassy, as well as to give suggestions for improving ties with the motherland.
Ambassador Kovač especially greeted the youngest guests and participants in the online Serbian language workshop for children from the diaspora, which the Embassy has been holding every two weeks since January this year.
On this occasion, Ambassador Kovač handed over letters of appreciation to individuals who in some way contributed to the celebration of the anniversary of bilateral relations - to artist Mariana Anđelić, who designed the conceptual logo for the anniversary, longtime Serbian language teacher Alma Okajima, who leads a workshop for children from diaspora on a voluntary basis, and architect Đorđe Dašić for his dedicated engagement in the adaptation of the new Embassy building.
Citizens had the opportunity to socialise drinking rakija and tasting Serbian specialties in an informal atmosphere.
