Tirana: Ambassador Vukčević meets with the Rector of the University of Tirana

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Albania Slobodan Vukčević met with Rector of the University of Tirana Artan Hoxha and discussed cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

Ambassador Vukčević expressed his wish for re-activating the Department of Serbian Language at the University of Philology in Tirana, which ceased its activity in 2004.

Rector Hoxha informed Ambassador Vukčević that there was a possibility for re-starting the Serbian language studies, if a sufficient number of students were to apply. In this regard, he also expressed his interest in establishing cooperation between the two departments, which would entail classes in both Tirana and Belgrade, with an option to issue two diplomas, by the University of Tirana and the University of Belgrade.

He also emphasised that there was a lot of room for establishing cooperation with other universities in Serbia, such as the University of Niš and the University of Novi Sad.
