Timișoara: Bridge illuminated in the Serbian national flag colours on the occasion of the Statehood Day
Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Timișoara expressed gratitude on its website to the Mehedinţi County and Prefecture, as well as Presidents of the Svinița and Eșelnița Municipalities, who organised a festive celebration on this occasion on the Danube banks, thus confirming dedication to developing cooperation and cultivating friendship between the Republic of Serbia and Romania.
Numerous visitors, among whom the representatives of local self-government units from Kladovo and Majdanpek attended the celebration, with an amazing performance of the traditional folk dance by the Cultural Artistic Society “St. Nikola” from Radimna.
After the formal ceremony, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bucharest, Stefan Tomašević, and Consul General of Serbia in Timișoara, Vladan Tadić, visited the Svinița Municipality and the institutions of the Mehedinţi Prefecture and Mehedinţi County Council.
During the visit to the institutions of the Mehedinţi Prefecture and Mehedinţi County Council, a meeting with the participation of numerous local and regional media was held.
On that occasion, the cooperation of the Mehedinţi County County with the neighbouring municipalities and districts in the Republic of Serbia was considered highly effective, particularly through joint implementation of numerous projects included in the Romanian-Serbian transboundary cooperation.
Ambassador Tomašević expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture and the event organised on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, and emphasised good bilateral relations between Serbia and Romania, strong economic and cultural bonds as well as the implementation of numerous joint projects.
