Tehran: Ambassador Todorović met with the Rector of Al-Mustafa University
Rector Ali Abbasi presented Al-Mustafa University to the Ambassador as the home of all nations and cultures of the world, pointing out that the large presence of scientists from 130 countries of the world showed the depth of scientific and educational activities of that university on the international stage.
Appreciating the scientific and cultural efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ambassador Todorović described his visit to Al-Mustafa University as a step for the development of scientific cooperation between the universities of Serbia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He emphasised the importance of the development of relations between universities from Serbia and Al-Mustafa University and added that the depth of political relations between the two countries could make cooperation in various economic, cultural, sports and scientific sectors more active.
Emphasising the need for the development of scientific and cultural ties between Iran and Serbia, Ambassador Todorović described the facilities for teaching the Persian language as an important point for the development of scientific cooperation between Al-Mustafa University and the University of Serbia and pointed out that he was ready to support the development of scientific, educational and cultural cooperation and communications.
The Ambassador emphasised that Serbia was very interested in expanding relations with Iran, as well as that the two countries were good friends.
He noted that Serbia would not limit its relations with Iran only to Tehran, and said that with good planning the two countries could have several levels of relations in the fields of science, culture, tourism and other fields.
Ali Abbasi particularly emphasised that Al-Mustafa University was interested in establishing extensive scientific and educational cooperation with Serbian universities.
He pointed out the importance of establishing, strengthening and developing the scientific ties of Al-Mustafa University with the scientific centres of Serbia and conducting various joint scientific and educational formats, including joint research projects, holding conferences, seminars, meetings, as well as the exchange of professors and students. He also underlined the importance of holding short-term courses.
Abbasi described Iran's cultural affinity to Eastern European countries as an important platform for expanding cooperation and stated that the close cultural and friendly relationship between the peoples of Iran and Serbia, as well as the development of scientific relations between the academic institutions of the two countries had a significant impact on other cultural and social areas.
