Sofia: The Statehood Day marked at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia
Considering the epidemiological restrictions in the Republic of Bulgaria, Ambassador Željko Jović and the Embassy staff celebrated the most important holiday of our state, our people and all citizens of the Republic of Serbia without the presence of their usual guests.
Those in attendance of the celebration were Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Bulgaria headquartered in Plovdiv Anastasia Solakov, and a candidate for Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Bulgaria headquartered in Blagoevgrad Mitko Solakov.
The Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia was an excellent occasion to point out once again both to the diplomatic corps and institutions of the receiving state in numerous written addresses not only the historical context of the development of the Serbian state, but also that today the Republic of Serbia is a modern democracy, which respects human and minority rights, freedoms and diversity. The emphasis was put on the fact that Serbia is strongly committed to good neighbourly relations, open dialogue and cooperation, which makes it a reliable and desirable partner in both regional and overall international relations.
Furthermore, Serbia is a country that has been undergoing rapid economic growth for several years, a country that establishes a new reality — one that guarantees a better life and secures future for, most importantly, young people — with its infrastructure and other projects, and a clear vision of where and how it wants to advance.
