Sofia: Ambassador Jović at the awarding of certificates of appreciation for the assistance provided to Serbian citizens injured in a traffic accident
At the ceremony organised by the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, the Ambassador stated that Serbia has already officially thanked all Bulgarian institutions, relevant ministries and medical personnel, adding that it is a great honour to have the opportunity to thank the Bulgarian citizens who were the first on the scene to come to aid the victims and thus prevent more serious consequences.
The Ambassador addressed the audience with the following words: “Dear friends, dear Bulgarian brothers and sisters, today I am addressing you both as the Serbian Ambassador with a big thank you on behalf of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, all our ministers, the entire government and all our institutions, for everything you have done, and as a citizen of Serbia, on behalf of millions of Serbian citizens who were moved by your act, with a heartfelt appreciation for your selfless act and help to our citizens, our children. On that day, the eve before the great Christian holiday of the Dormition of the Mother of God, you reminded us all of what it truly means to love one's neighbour, to have concern for one's neighbour and the willingness to sacrifice. Thank you for showing respect and love for each other, for showing us how we are one, one soul. In that context, I have one question for everyone present - is it necessary to wait for difficult times and misfortunes, is it necessary for such accidents to happen in order to realize how close we are and how ready we are to help one another? Long live Serbia! Long live Bulgaria! May our nations, above all our children, live in love, peace, tolerance, and mutual care.”
