Seoul: Ambassador Grbić's visit to the Asian Culture Centre in Gwangju
President Lee informed the Ambassador that ACC has established international cooperation mainly with Asian countries, but that in the coming period they were trying to attract artists from other countries and were interested in cooperating with cultural institutions from Serbia.
Ambassador Grbić pointed out that Serbia was a country with rich culture and long history and that it had respectable and established cultural institutions, as well as significant intangible cultural heritage, which should by all means be presented to the Korean audience through cooperation with ACC.
Ambassador Grbić conveyed Serbia's interest in cooperation with ACC as one of the most visited cultural institutions in the Republic of Korea, through holding exhibitions of Serbian artists independently, in cooperation with Korean artists or through other forms of cooperation.
The Asian Culture Centre was opened in 2015 and is the largest culture centre in Asia. It operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. This impressive complex covers an area of approximately 140,000 square metres and houses the ACC Archive, a large library, three theatres, several large galleries and a modernly equipped centre for arts and creative technologies.
