London: Ambassador Joksimović ahead of the British-Serbian conference: It is important to recognize the importance of bilateral relations between Serbia and Britain

The ambassador told Tanjug that the relations between Great Britain and Serbia are good, but that there is room for their improvement, as well as that it is extremely important to recognize the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The conference is being held with the support of the Group for Serbia of the Parliament of Great Britain and the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Great Britain of the National Assembly of Serbia, and Joksimović states that the Serbian Parliament in this way not only supported the relations between the two countries, but also wanted to contribute to their deepening, with the help of a large number of experts who will participate, and who are familiar with the bilateral relations between Serbia and the UK.

"The conference will cover a wide range of topics of importance. I think that the additional focus will be primarily on the economy, so for both Serbia and the UK, the topic of economy is of priority importance", said Joksimović, who will have the final word at the conference.

She believes that in the post-Brexit period, it is important to establish such a type of communication that will enable trade to gain constant momentum in the economic sense.

She also adds that all other aspects of bilateral relations are also extremely important.

"I think that the list of participants is extremely representative and I sincerely hope that the conclusions of such a conference will contribute to a better understanding of bilateral relations, but also in a certain way inform the public about the level of relations between Serbia and the UK", Joksimović said.

The topic of the sixth British-Serbian conference is "New bilateral agreement – opportunities for partnership, trade and cooperation".

The meeting is also organized by the Belgrade consulting company "Eurosfera & Partners", and the expectations are that the meeting will provide an in-depth and direct insight into the perspectives of dynamic relations between Great Britain, Serbia and the wider European community.
