Bucharest: Interview of Ambassador Tomasević for Radio Timisoara
Ambassador Tomašević pointed out that it was an event of enormous importance, the first of its kind to be organised in Bucharest, which would serve to establish contacts and deepen cooperation.
He added that the reactions of the participants were excellent and that the meetings that followed the promotion of Serbian wines indicated that some of those products would find their place on the Romanian market.
The Ambassador emphasised that such type of event was important for the promotion of Serbian wines and cooperation, as well as an opportunity to further strengthen relations between Serbia and Romania and the two nations, and he added that „wine routes bring people together in the best possible way and contribute to develop cultural ties, as well as to increase the number of visits on both sides, which is our greatest interest“.
He pointed out that such activities would continue in the future, and that in the near future it was expected that a group of Romanian wine producers, together with representatives of their wine bars and other people in the supply chain, would visit Serbia, Serbian wineries, distilleries and acquaint themselves with the quality of Serbian wine and other Serbian products.
The Ambassador also referred to the Wine Fair „Wine Vision Open Balkan“, held in Belgrade from 1–4 September, noting that no one in the region had organised such an event. He mentioned that on that occasion Serbia hosted its Romanian friends who had great impressions, and the event in Bucharest could be understood as continuation of that cooperation.
He also said that Romanian wines were presented in September during the Port of Constanta Day in Novi Sad, and emphasised that those three events testified to the fact that there was a strong desire to promote all the best from the two countries and to improve that type of cooperation, increase trade, as well as connect people.
The Ambassador provided information about the location on which Serbian wines could currently be found on the Romanian market and presented future plans for placing Serbian products on the Romanian market.
